Hello and welcome to DilhanMD.com.

Thank you for choosing Dr. Dilhan Abeyewardene and the Orthopedic Care Specialists. It is our privilege to care for you and to provide you and your family with the quality service you deserve.  It is with this in mind that we have taken proactive measures to protect you, your family, our staff, visitors, and the community at large from COVID-19 virus, commonly referred to as the “coronavirus”.

Regarding COVID-19 and as with any communicable disease, our office is monitoring information from federal, state and local public health agencies for the latest information.  We encourage you to do the same by visiting the CDC website.  This is a great way to empower yourself with knowledge for infection prevention while we continue to update patient screenings and hospital protocols as they are continually updated.

In accordance with measures taken at the local, state, and federal levels along with recommendations from our local medical society and hospitals, we strongly urge you to only come to the office for urgent issues or if you have had surgery in the past 2 weeks.  If you or a loved one fits into this category, as well as being at high risk for the coronavirus please call our office, and I will reach out to you personally.  People considered to be at high risk include those of us who are >70 years old, in nursing home communities, and/or have heart, lung, or other severe underlying medical comorbidities.  Of note, local hospitals have cancelled all elective surgical cases until further notice, and we will comply with the hospital in this regard.  Your surgery may need to be rescheduled to a safer time.

I’ve always strived to provide the best, highest quality information and care for all my patients.  Please heed the advice of the CDC and others, and take care of yourselves, your families, and your community by complying with the imposed social distancing measures.  I look forward to seeing you soon after we have beaten this together.

Dr. Dilhan
